If circumstances require you to withdraw from all of your courses during a semester, you should contact your academic advisor and One Stop Student Services (Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester, Twin Cities) before taking any other action. This will ensure your decision is based on having a clear understanding of the consequences of withdrawing, and how it may affect your tuition, fees, and financial aid.

Depending on when you withdraw, you may be eligible to receive a refund of your tuition and fees. If you received financial aid, you and the Financial Aid office may be required to return all or a portion of the aid (whether disbursed to you and/or your student account) to the government and/or University programs. This situation may, therefore, result in you owing financial aid funds to the University, the government, or both.
