    Coursera Specialization

Explore the many dimensions of applied knowledge that relate to the social determinants of health. Each of the five courses in this specialization includes an applications module during which you will learn how to analyze, interpret, and display data. You’ll also use the Data-to-Action Hourglass Model to support the consideration of multiple perspectives as you filter, frame, and focus data-driven action.

In addition to the definitions and theoretical perspectives that are at the foundation of this specialization, you’ll delve into health equity, health informatics, and planetary health, as well as data analysis and visualization. All students will have the opportunity to apply their new skills as part of a peer-reviewed applied-learning project.

All U of M Coursera courses, including those that are part of this specialization, may be taken individually.

No prior experience is necessary. The specialization takes approximately seven months to complete at the suggested pace of four hours per week. Coursera for Minnesota gives U of M students, faculty, and staff free access to courses and specializations.
