Degree Options

You can complete the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSECE) online degree program as a Plan C: Coursework graduate degree. Students in the MSECE online program complete all courses remotely through UNITE Distributed Learning. You can be part-time or full-time under the MSECE online degree program. If you complete 100% of your coursework in a semester through UNITE, you will be charged the in-state tuition rate, regardless of your location in the United States.

Course Delivery

Online courses for this program are offered through the College of Science and Engineering’s UNITE Distributed Learning office. Please note that some synchronous events (exams, quizzes, presentations) may be required, depending on course or instructor.

UNITE Student and Faculty Engagement will coordinate and verify local proctors for exams and quizzes for students so that you do not have to travel to campus.

Students may combine courses taken through UNITE with on-campus courses toward their degree, if desired.

NOTE: Nonresidents enrolled in UNITE-offered sections of courses pay the resident tuition rate as long as they are not enrolled in on-campus sections in the same semester.

Registering for UNITE courses

Enroll in classes through UNITE Faculty and Student Engagement, not the University's One Stop registration site. The UNITE sections of courses appear as "closed" sections in the One Stop system. UNITE is an educational unit with the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota.

Tuition, Fees, and Financial Aid

The cost of graduate tuition is $1,539.00 per credit. There is an additional UNITE fee of $100 per credit, plus additional University and Collegiate fees based on individual enrollment.

Financial aid is available for eligible students. Students must fill out the FAFSA form in order to apply for financial aid.
