The Office of Academic and Clinical Affairs at the University of Minnesota sponsors Mini Medical Schools to engage our community. Mini Medical Schools offer unique perspectives into the health sciences at the University of Minnesota. Students – ranging in age from high school students to retirees – with a shared interest in health embark on journeys examining the scientific foundations of health and disease. Presented using common language for ease of understanding complex topics, your instructors are internationally renowned University of Minnesota experts who shape how health care is delivered locally and globally.
Mini Medical School: A 20/20 View of Cancer was a session focused on cancer that was originally presented for six consecutive weeks in January through March 2020 on the campus of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ Medical School. Each of the six sessions, or modules, contained presentations from Masonic Cancer Center researchers and clinicians with expertise in the topics they discussed. These topics spanned the cancer continuum from how cancer occurs and how it can be prevented and treated, to unique health issues faced by cancer survivors. We now offer A 20/20 View of Cancer as an online experience.
There is no fee for this online course. CEs are not offered for this course.
If you are participating in the University of Minnesota's Employee Wellbeing Program, you can earn 200 Wellbeing Points per module or 1,200 points for completing the entire course. To receive the points, email wellness@umn.edu with a copy of your certificate or screenshot of a completed module.
