Online: Child Care and School Environments: Settings for Obesity Prevention Among Youth

This module focuses on the role of child care and school settings for preventing obesity among U.S. children and adolescents. It discusses nutrition programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture along with other foods and beverages not served by these programs but available in child care and school environments; challenges to the provision of opportunities for physical activity and physical education; regulations and recommendations that are currently in place for U.S. child care settings and schools; and opportunities for improving school food and physical activity environments.
