2016 Private Pesticide Applicator Exam

This is the online version of the 2016 Private Pesticide Applicator Exam.
If your private pesticide applicator license has expired, will expire on March 1st, 2016, or if you have never held a private pesticide applicator license, you may take this exam to (re)certify as an applicator in 2016.

If technology isn't your strong suit, you may choose to attend a workshop or take the mail-in (re)certification exam instead. Mail-in exams are available at local Extension offices. The exams are not the same. You may not enter responses from a paper mail-in exam to this online version. You may not transfer a payment from the mail-in exam to the online exam, or vice versa.

There is a $75 non-refundable processing fee for the exam.
Any cancellations of exam registrations, including chargebacks, will be subject to a $30 administration fee.

This process of exam registration is a lot like shopping online, so it may seem familiar. Open THIS LINK in a new window or tab to help guide you through.

In order to complete your registration, you must create a new University of Minnesota guest account. Please provide your own valid email address to which you have immediate access. Duplicate emails cannot be used.
If you happen to find that your email is already associated with an account but you cannot log in, call UMN's 1-Help for login assistance at 612-301-4357.

The link to the exam will be provided as part of your receipt on the final page of the checkout process. This receipt will also be sent as an email titled "University of Minnesota Confirmation." Please check your spam folders if you do not see it in your inbox. Be advised that it can take ten minutes to several hours for exam access to be granted. If you experience a delay in access during our business hours (8am - 4pm), email ppathelp@umn.edu for assistance.

There are 50 questions at 2 points each. Please SAVE your responses after each question you answer in case you experience any technical difficulties with your computer, browser, or internet. You may re-enter an incomplete attempt without it counting as another attempt.

You have 3 chances to earn a score of at least 80% on this exam to (re)certify for your private pesticide applicator's license. After you achieve a passing score, please do not re-attempt the exam to improve the score; this can cause errors in the system, and you may not be (re)certified.

All exams must be successfully completed before October 31st, 2016 in order to be (re)certified in 2016.
